Paved Trail System:

Golfing: The Estes Valley hosts two golf courses for those who want a unique golfing experience. If you prefer a long day of golf call the Estes Park Golf Course. For a quick game, visit the Lake Estes 9 Hole Executive Course.

Massage: Have you not had a massage, well it is time to find yourself melting away. There are many to choose from around town, but Dawn Normali will come to your room! You can schedule Dawn by calling her at 970-586-0800.

Hiking: There are many trails to choose from. They range from easy (Bear Lake Trail), moderate (Gem Lake; ½ mile from Black Canyon Inn) to hard (Chasm Lake). You can even go to a book store and pick up a guide on local trails. One that was written by a local author is Rocky Mountain National Park: The Complete Hiking Guide by Lisa Foster.

Fishing: You can either bring your own equipment or rent it. There are also guides throughout town to take you to their favorite spots.

Scenic drives: What’s there to say, you’re in Colorado! Even if it hasn’t been designated as a scenic byway, you probably won’t be disappointed. We are fortunate to have the “highest paved through road in the USA”. Trail Ridge Road, aka Hwy. 34 winds up to 12,183 feet of magnificent beauty. Visit the Colorado Byway website for more tours.

Art Galleries: Photography, paintings, woodwork, sculptures, jewelry, pottery and glasswork.

Painting: Many artists visit the Estes Park region to be inspired for pieces of their work. The Plein Air Rockies is held from August 14-27, 2010.

Wildlife viewing: elk, big horn, bear, deer, marmot, squirrels, chipmunks, fox, bobcat, and more. Remember, they are wild and please do not approach or feed.

Photography: The Estes Valley and surrounding forest and national park provide some of the best opportunities whether a professional or novice.
