Work assignments are in the areas of housekeeping (most consistently required task), lawn and grounds upkeep, pool maintenance and reservations and front desk duties. Many of our students in the past have secured evening jobs as well at other locations in Estes Park for days off or after regular work hours. We support this, with approval of your supervisor, providing that you remain committed to the Black Canyon Inn as your primary responsibility. As your sponsor and provider of housing, that commitment is required.

All employees will be required to comply with the policies in the Black Canyon Inn, Inc. Employee handbook. A copy will be available for your review prior to signing a contract.

Because most of our guests speak only English, preference will be given to applicants fluent in English. A telephone interview will be arranged prior to a final decision on offering you a position to verify your conversational skills.

 |
We will not consider offering a position to anyone unable to contract for a period of at least 90 days. Our high season typically runs from June well into October.

Upon acceptance and returning a signed contract with the Black Canyon Inn, a housing/position deposit of $150.00 will be placed on deposit with us prior to your arrival. The deposit will be returned to you in full upon completion of the term of your contract, return of all company materials given to you for your use and leaving your room in satisfactory condition.

All employees are responsible for their transportation to Estes Park. We can assist you in scheduling a shuttle from the airport in Denver once you are able to provide flight arrival times. A round-trip ticket costs approximately $50.00. They do not operate 24 hours. If you have a very late arrival, you may have to stay in Denver at the airport or in a nearby hotel. We will advise you, if that need arises.

While employed at the Black Canyon Inn, all employees must comply with all local, state, and federal laws. Any violation of such laws will result in immediate dismissal. Please note that unlike Europe, the legal drinking age for alcoholic beverages is 21 years of age. You will be required to show proof of age to purchase alcoholic drinks in any liquor store, bar, restaurant or night club in Colorado.
